About Us
Every goodbye
deserves to be held gently.
We believe love doesn't end with loss —
it simply finds a new way to stay close.
Our Story
Born from
one goodbye
In the autumn of 2020, our co-founder lost Biscuit — a black-and-white cat who had been her constant companion for thirteen years. That night, as she sorted through his belongings, she realized there was nothing beautiful enough to hold the weight of that love.
So Purrhaven began. Not to make keepsakes, but to craft a vessel worthy of the bond — something that could carry memory, warmth, and all the small secrets only the two of you ever shared.
"A goodbye is not an ending. It is love choosing a quieter shape — and we are here to help you hold it."
Craft & Materials
Every piece
is the only one
We partner with master ceramicists in Jingdezhen — home to over a thousand years of porcelain tradition. Each urn is wheel-thrown by hand using high-white kaolin clay, glazed with natural mineral pigments, and wood-fired above 1,300 °C for 72 hours.
The heat, the ash, the subtle colour that blooms in the kiln — none of it can be exactly repeated. That unpredictability is what makes each piece irreplaceable.
- ✦Hand-thrown high-white kaolin clay — smooth, even walls
- ✦Natural mineral glazes — lead-free, cadmium-free, food-safe
- ✦Wood-fired at 1,300 °C+ for natural kiln variation
- ✦Each piece ships with a handwritten certificate & artisan signature
The Process
From your story
to a finished piece
We don't just take an order. Before a single gram of clay is touched, we spend time understanding your companion — their personality, your daily rituals together, the moments you most want to remember.
Those details guide every choice: the form, the glaze colour, the texture, the scale. The result is something that could not have been made for anyone else.
Every custom commission comes with a handbound Companion Record — a document written by your artisan, describing the decisions made and the story they were made for. It ships alongside the piece, and lasts as long as it does.
What We Believe
Three ideas at the
heart of everything we make
Love is not abstract. It is the particular weight of a cat on your chest, the scratch of claws on a wooden floor, the way they always chose your side of the bed. We make objects that hold that specificity.
A ceramic urn on your bookshelf will catch your eye on an ordinary Tuesday morning and bring them back instantly — more vividly than a photograph, more completely than a memory alone.
We want pet memorials to be something people display with pride, not hide away with grief. When an object is genuinely beautiful, it earns its place in the open — seen, spoken about, and treasured.
